Day 1 New Zealand - Paris, France

Today depart from Auckland, *Christchurch or *Wellington for Paris, France. Fly with premium airlines such as Etihad Airways, Emirates, Qantas Airways or Singapore Airlines to name a few (subject to availability). 

Please note: Due to flight scheduling and availability, some customers may be required to depart the morning of Day 2, however affected customers will still arrive on day 2.

Day 2 Welcome to Paris

Upon arrival, be welcomed and transferred to the hotel.

Day 3 Paris City Tour

Following breakfast at the hotel, begin a half-day city tour of Paris with a local guide. The tour starts from the Notre Dame in Île de la Cité, (view from outside) considered by many as the most significant church in Paris, a masterpiece of French Gothic art, renowned for stunning stained glass windows, flying buttresses and intricate statues. Not far from Notre Dame, you will see the Palace of the Conciergerie, formerly a prison but presently used for practising law. The prison housed as many as 1200 prisoners in its heyday, including the famous Marie Antoinette.

You will then continue to the Latin Quarter, the literary and intellectual area, home to the former University of the Sorbonne. Afterwards, you will have time to admire the impressive Luxembourg Garden and Saint Germain des Pres (entrances not included). Walkthrough Les Halles (general markets were held here in the 19th century) until you reach the cultural centre “George Pompidou”, built-in 1977 by the famous architect Renzo Piano as the Museum of Contemporary Art. To finish your tour on a high you will see the centrepiece of Paris’ cityscape, the Eiffel Tower.

Day 4 Paris - Cannes

This morning, be transferred to Paris Train Station to board the TGV train to Cannes (approx. 5 hours). Upon arrival in Cannes, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the at leisure in this beautiful resort town on the French Riviera.

Day 5 Cannes Free Day

Today, enjoy a free day in Cannes. Famed for its international film festival and Boulevard de la Croisette. Curving along the coast, Cannes is lined with sandy beaches, upmarket boutiques and palatial hotels. It’s also home to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès (convention centre) which is complete with red carpet and Allée des Étoiles – Cannes’ walk of fame.

Day 6 Cannes - Nice - Monaco - Genoa, Italy (approx. 230km day)

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day experience on the french riviera. Explore Nice with your tour leader. Known for its old-world opulence, year-round sunshine, vibrant street life and stunning seaside location.


Continue to Monaco, the city of Princes and the world's second-smallest country. View the central hub of Monte Carlo and famous casino ‘Casino Monte-Carlo’ and be driven along the very same road of the famous Monaco Grand Prix. Later this afternoon, you will be driven to the Italian port city of Genoa. Arrive in Genoa and check into the hotel.

Day 7 Genoa - Begin 11 Night MSC West Mediterranean Cruise 

After breakfast, spend the morning in Genoa. A marvellously eclectic, vibrant and a rough-edged style city. Famous as the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, Genoa remains a bustling seaport. Perhaps take some time to learn about the city's Renaissance heritage, which is preserved in splendid palaces overlooking the harbour.


In the afternoon, be transferred to the cruise terminal, where you will embark on your 11 Night West Mediterranean cruise. The cruise departs at 4:00pm.

Day 9 Malaga, Spain 1:00pm - 6:00pm

The elegant central zone of Málaga is largely pedestrianised with the focal point, marble-paved Calle Marqués de Larios, lined with fashionable stores. Plaza de la Constitución, Málaga’s main square, hosts a monumental fountain flanked by slender palms and the terraces of numerous cafés and restaurants. Málaga centre has a number of interesting churches and museums, not to mention the birthplace of Picasso and the Museo Picasso Málaga.

Day 11 Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal 9:00am - 4:00pm

As you arrive in Funchal, your ship will cast anchor in a bay protected by mountains rising straight up behind the port. The name, Funchal, derives from that of the fennel plant, the funcho still used today in the traditional sweets known as ‘rebuçados de funcho’, that one can find anywhere on the island of Madeira.

Day 12 Santa Cruz De Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain 8:30am - 3:00pm

The port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife welcomes cruisers ashore on its Ramblas (wide, tree-lined avenues). The old part of Santa Cruz de Tenerife showcases churches built in a variety of architectural styles, from the insular baroque of the church of St. Francis, to the colonial Canary style of the church of the Concepciòn or the 18th century Iglesia del Pilar.

Day 14 Tangier, Morocco 8:00am - 2:00pm

Tangier’s strategic location has made it a highly sought-after locale since ancient times. The layout within Tangier’s Medina, like most throughout Morocco, was never planned in advance. As the need arose, a labyrinth of streets and small squares emerged that eventually became the various quarters there today.

Day 15 Cartagena, Spain 9:00am - 5:00pm

When you arrive in the old town from the Mediterranean Sea and the port, you can see the real character of the area, with narrow medieval streets and packed bars and restaurants. Considered Hannibal’s capital city on the Iberian peninsula, it was named after his Carthage in North Africa, and was a strategic port and administrative centre for the Romans.

Day 17 Civitavecchia, Rome Italy 7:00am - 6:00pm

The port of Civitavecchia is one of the largest in Italy and is, of course, a gateway to the eternal city of Rome. Civitavecchia enjoys a millenary history due to its coves along the coast, which offered a perfect shelter for vessels, making it a natural port long before cruise ships sailed the seas, and in fact, the port was known to the Romans as Centumcellae.

Day 18 Genoa, Italy - Arrive 8:00am - Begin 11 Night East Mediterranean Cruise 

Today you will arrive back into Genoa Cruise Port for the next part of your journey.


Please note: customers may need to disembark and then re-embark the cruise ship. Some customers may also be required to change cabins more information will be included in your final documentation. The cruise departs at 4:00pm.

Day 20 Katakolon (Olympia), Greece 1:00pm - 7:00pm

Katakolon is a tiny seaside town in Greece in the bay of Agios Andreas, only 20km away from the ancient site of Olympia. According to many legends, Zeus held the first Olympic Games to celebrate beating his father Kronos at wrestling. This is the birthplace of the ideal that still brings the world together, differences aside, for the sake of friendly athletic competition.


Do not miss the chance to visit the archaeological site of Olympia, one of the largest in Greece (optional shore excursion). Discover the ways of Katakolon’s inhabitants, stroll among flowering streets and unwind in one of the many cafés.

Day 21 Heraklion, Crete, Greece 10:30am - 6:00pm

The best way to arrive in Heraklion is from the sea on a cruise ship. It’s the traditional approach and is still the one that shows the city in its best light, with Mount Yioúhtas rising behind, the heights of the Psilorítis range to the west and, as you get closer, the great fortress guarding the harbour entrance and the city walls encircling and dominating the oldest part of town.

Day 23 Haifa, Israel 7:00am - 9:00pm

Haifa, a large port located in northern Israel, is the perfect setting off point for excursions of great interest, especially if you would like to learn more about the world’s three greatest religions during your voyage. In Israel, the three Religions of the Book, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, encounter each other at every angle. Take a shore excursion (not included) to visit places such as Bethlehem, Nazareth, Cana and Jerusalem, you will be able to truthfully say that you have tread on the same ground as the prophets, the disciples of Jesus and the Arab conquerors.

Day 24 Limassol, Cyprus 8:00am - 2:00pm

Cast anchor not only in the Mediterranean but also in a port that boasts 4000 years of history. In Limassol, there are also traces of the Knight Templars. On landing, one can admire the centre and the medieval castle, part of a constellation of nine forts guarding the whole island, which now hosts a museum with exhibits dating from the 5th to the 19th century.


Along the seafront, pines, cypresses, eucalyptuses brim over the public gardens.

Day 25 Rhodes, Greece 9:00am - 5:00pm

Historically the most important of the Dodecanese islands, Rhodes is surrounded by beaches, wooded valleys and ancient history. The fortified enclave now known as the Old Town was created by the Knights Hospitaller - commonly referred to as the Order of Saint John - in the fourteenth century. It’s one of the finest medieval walled cities you could ever hope to see.

Day 27 Messina, Sicily, Italy 7:00am - 2:00pm

Messina may well be your first sight of Sicily, and it's a fine one, the glittering town spread up the hillside beyond its sickle-shaped Mediterranean harbour. Perhaps take an optional shore excursion (not included) to Messina’s most important monument, the Duomo, which epitomises the city’s phoenix-like ability to re-create itself from the ashes of its last disaster.

Day 28 Civitavecchia, Rome, Italy 9:00am - 6:00pm

Enjoy another day docked in Civitavecchia. The city centre is reachable by foot and amongst the most important monuments to visit are the Forte Michelangelo, built by Bramante in the 16th century, the ancient walls of the old port, where there is a fountain in travertine marble by Vanvitelli. Rome is also not far away for those more adventurous.

Day 29 Genoa, Italy - Arrive at 8:00am - Milan, Italy (approx. 145km day)

This morning disembark your Grand Mediterranean cruise and be met and driven to Milan.

Take some time to explore Milan with your tour leader. Celebrated as the Italian capital of fashion and design, Milan is a city rich in art, history and culture. See the magnificent Duomo (entrance not included) and admire the elegant buildings along two of Milan’s most iconic streets - the Via Dante and Via Dei Mercanti. Piazza del Duomo is located in the heart of Milan, and the Duomo - where German influences are softened by the finesse of Italian artists - is one of its most significant Gothic style monuments.

Continue through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Italy’s oldest active shopping mall, before arriving at the Piazza Della Scala, home to one of the most famous theatres in the world; La Scala (entrance not included).
