Begin in Cusco, the Incan capital where you’ll find South America’s richest heritage. Descend 1500 feet to the Sacred Valley floor, alongside the Urubamba River and village of Pisac, a village renowned for its Incan ruins and markets. Travel via train from Ollantaytambo to beautiful Aguas Calientes, known for its thermal baths and as the gateway to the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu. Head to the grand citadel the following morning and enjoy a guided tour of this mysterious ancient city, before returning to Cusco for a day at leisure.
From here, your trip takes on a wild turn as you head to Ecuador. Experience the UNESCO World Heritage site of Quito and check out the ‘Middle of the Earth’, where you can stand on both sides of the hemispheres at the same time. Tour a chocolate factory, explore the Mindo Cloud Forest, enjoy the indigenous town of Otavalo, soak in the hot springs at Papallacta and take in the Cotopaxi Volcano. Then immerse yourself in the Galapagos Islands of Santa Cruz, Isla Lobos and San Cristobal. Take the opportunity to snorkel and tour in search of local wildlife including giant tortoises, blue footed boobies, sea lions, frigate birds, white tipped reef sharks, and more
